These are pictures we took while we spent the day before sailing on the Island Princess, destination Alaska. We also took a trip to the local aquarium which serves as a marine rescue shelter as well. Well worth the admission that supports a great cause. Some of their rescues could not be released back into the wild due to the extent of their injuries such as a dolphin that lost it's fins due to being caught in abandoned fishing nets for long periods of time. You can spend hours there looking at their excellent display of fish and underwater creatures. I have however come across a bit of information that indicates that there may be/have been some controversy over the capture of some of their whales and dolphins but can not speak to that but rather our personal experience on our visit.
